Blue ball #15 - 16 "Unleashed."

On:

<Tenforward>

Melina looked down on the blue/green world. It held little to no intreast to her. She had been to Starfleet Academy of course and visited her father's family. The ships lounge on the Pegasus was virtually empty with everyone seemingly down on the planet. Melina didn't need to go down to know what the reactiopn to her would be.Her father's family had never fogiven him for mating outside his species. She remembered very well the reaction of her half brothers and sisters, she sighed softly and closed her eyes as she thought back to the days not that long ago.

<Earth London 2370>

Melina walked up the path with her fasther, she smiled as he looked over the new Lt Commanders Starfleet uniform. he'd told her to expect a not very walm welcome but she was unsure of what to do. Caitians where well known for being friendly. She looked to the youngest of her half sisters Nadia. The young woman was about fifteen and had very pink skin to Melina.

"Hello Nadia isn't it?" asked Melina.

"Yes.... you're Melina?" She asked, cocking an eyebrow, altogether unimpressed with the half Caitian.

"Yes..I'm Melina, it's nice to meet you at last Nadia" replied Melina softly.

"Yeah..." She said, trying to be polite as her father had asked her to be.

Melina smiled softly and padded closer and then hugged Nadia lightly. She looked to her father who smiled softly, he slipped into the house to speak with his first wife. Nadia hugged her back a bit reluctantly. It was strange hugging this person that was half her father and half some flea bitten feline from some distant world.

"So where is your other sister and brothers?" questioned Melina.

"In the house." She responded tersely, not liking the fact that her father had abandoned her out here to deal with the freak of the family.

Melina blinked for some reason she was getting the feeling that she wasn'ty as welcome as her father said she would be. She pursed her lips a little as she tried not to say anything. She watched as a older male came down the stairs leading to the house. He brought with him a glass of lemonade. He already held another in his right hand. From what she remembered Melina knew that his name was Mark.

He moved down the stairs and handed the lemonade to Nadia, turning as he smiled a bit to Melina.

"Oh I didn't know you were here. Uhm would you like some lemonade?" He asked, offering her his glass which he hadn't yet had any from.

Melina took the glass and nodded slightly, she looked to him and blinked a little revealing the slight pink eyeshadow she was wearing.

"Thank you..I'm Melina I guess you must be Mark" she said lightly.

"That's right." He said as Nadia moved into the house.

Melina followed, she licked her lips as she watched the two. Everything about their body languane was saying they didn't like her being there. As they entered the house Melina touched Mark's right shoulder.

"I don't know you enough to dislike you, or to like you for that matter. But it's rather hard on all of us knowing that our father screwed around somewhere out in space before coming back and having a family with his own people." He said honestly. He hadn't said it to be rude, but he wasn't afraid to hide his feelings. It wasn't as if his father could punish him for being honest.

"Your mother put her carreer first with the Federation Council, father says it was all over the year after Nadia was born" replied Melina with a slight snarl.

"My father is a lecherous old fool who couldn't stand that my mother didn't want to sit home and raise us and had higher aspirations. He couldn't handle the fact that our mother was indepent thinking." Mark said.

Melina hissed softly as her ears when down and against her head. She only just pulled herself in and bit down a rude retort. She watched as Simon and Jessica came out of the main room followed by their father. Melina looked to him and he nodded softly. He returned to the main room and not long afterwards raised voices came from the two in the room.

"Your mother was busy 'entertaing' just about everyone she could as long as it was to the Federation Council's benifit she didn't really care about her family" replied Melina.

"Our mother was worried about us and made sure we had a good solid home to live in and worked to give the same benefits to everyone in the Federation. My father however couldn't keep his pants while running around the galaxy because it was too much strain on him." He sneered and stalked off past his father who only sighed and shook his head.

Melina snarled loudly and flew at Mark with her lighting reflexes, her claws extended as she howled her fury. Her handpaws moved quickly slashing at Marks chest and back. She spat and hissed her rage as he fought back to get her of him. He was no match, the sixteen year old was pinned beneath her much greater strength and he screamed in agony and pain as her claws dug into the flesh of his back as he twisted and writhed on the floor, blood flowing and soaking his shirt as the rest of the family came and tried to pull her off of Mark's back. Nadia quickly ran and tapped the home communications console to call for an emergency medical and police squad, describing the situation as their father held Melina's waist.

Melina snarled and mewed loudly as her father held her, she looked to him, her eyes where full of feral rage. Melina waited and calmed down she sighed softly and as she stood with her father nearby the police came. She spent the night in a cell and slept little wondering what would happen to her. The morning came swiftly and she found herself bound over not to go near the family for the rest of her stay. Later she found out that Mark had been severely injured, there would be scaring but thanks to medical technology he wouln't have anthing else but a few scars. Melina sighed, it was just that Mark shouldn't have said what he did. She wasn't expecting him to turn up at the station though.

"Well, I'm not pressing charges Melina." James said quietly as they walked out of the police station and jail where she had spent the last evening.

"He...shouln't have said what he did about you father" Melina said lightly.

"He has a right to say what he said. I did leave their mother." He said quietly.

"But...you said she wasn't really looking for what you both could have togher" replied Melina.

"I wanted to be something more than a husband to a councilwoman. I had my own dreams to go around the galaxy. Hers would keep her here on Earth, so I left." He said with a shrug.

<Present USS Pegasus>

Melina sighed softly and looked back to the blue/green ball named Earth. Nothing was there for her but old and unwanted bad memories. She laughed as an old song came back to her. Her father James used to play it when he was in a bad mood. She smiled softly and didn't give a damn who heard her she sang lightly:

I see the bad moon arising I see trouble on the way I see earthquakes and lightnin' I see bad times today

Don't go around tonight Well, it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise

I hear hurricanes ablowing I know the end is coming soon I fear rivers overflowing I hear the voice of rage and ruin

Don't go around tonight Well, it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise All right

Hope you got your things together Hope you are quite prepared to die Looks like we're in for nasty weather One eye is taken for an eye

Well don't go around tonight Well, it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise

Don't go around tonight Well, it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise
