Beyond the Myth With Kristiana Petrova

To celebrate the fact that this crew has been together for a year (first on the USS Pegasus and now on Starbase 47) I thought we could take the opportunity to get to know the people behind the characters a bit and see what makes them tick! I hope you enjoyed these interviews as much as I have!

Some Factual Data:
Name: Gerard .. But most call me Lert.
Age (and/or date of birth): June 10th, Many years ago.
Country: Holland , Yurp [that's the Netherlands, Europe for all us sane people]

The Interview:

[CO] Any other factual data you think I left out and you want to state?

[Lert] No, not really. I'll leave that kind of thing up to wiser men.

[CO] Ok then on to the actual questions! First of all How long have you been doing Star Trek PBeM RPGs and Where did you start?

[Lert] Started with the USS Eclipse, back in november 2005. A certain Rotten Emu [Rotten Emu is the CO his online nickname] threatened to murder me until I died from it unless I joined.

[CO] Yeah sorry about that... what position did you take up on the USS Eclipse? and why that position?

[Lert] Chief Ops. It was the only fun position available. But she didn't get to do much Ops’ing.

[CO] Wasn't? Then what Did you do on the Eclipse?

[Lert] Blew up half the ship, destroyed the other half by flying it into an enemy mothership. All good fun. Oh, and seduced the XO.

[CO] yeah I remember that [Incidentally, I was the XO of the Eclipse at that time]... good old days... Moving onward though, What do you like best about Simming in general and Pegasus/Starbase Ronin in Particular?

[Lert] It's creative writing with my buddies, making the impossible possible, the unreal real, kicking ass and taking numbers, moving people, their emotions, with my character.

[CO] Is there anything that you Particularly like about Starbase Ronin? Something that really makes this sim different from the rest? Or is it all the same to you?

[Lert] More of my buddies are on SB Ronin than on any other sim I'm on.

[CO] Ok, fair enough. Then tell me, what was the most memorable moment for your character on either the Pegasus or Ronin? And is there a moment for any of the other characters that really stuck?

[Lert] So far, I think Kristiana's shining moments have been several, where she came through despite self-doubt, injury or overwhelming odds. I always strive to develop her emotionally as well. Many other moments stand out in my mind, though, from other chars. Especially Evans and Black's bumbling beginnings in their relationship, the whole speak-your-mind virus plot and other assorted things.

[CO] Ah yes, Pandora's Box, a very memorable mission in itself. Kristiana really showed another side of herself there :D:P *remembers a certain black leather playsuit*

[Lert] Oh yes. Wait until I instigate my little subplot where some old pictures come back to haunt her. >.>

[CO] Wow you're making me both anticipant and nervous at the same time. It does bring up the next question though, Where do you personally get your inspiration for posting?

[Lert] Music, mostly. Movies .. Daily events, things I hear at work, read in the newspaper, forums I frequent.

[CO] So anything really, I take ;) If you would have to pick, what Quote (can be both in character and from the real world) would describe Kristiana Petrova best?

[Lert] Hm .. That's a tough one. I'm trying to make her both tough and uncertain at the same time. But one quote that seems to come out most of all is from a song, by a folk band, Blackmore's Night. The song is called Diamonds and Rust, and the quote is: "But if you're offering me diamonds and rust .. I've already paid."

[CO] I think that is both really fitting and rather deep, think about it people! We are nearing an end now though, last thing remains to be asked, is there anything you think that it's absolutely imperative that the people who read this have to know?

[Lert] Yeah. Some people take RP'ing too serious. We're all here to have fun, and in the end, it's just a game. Remember that folks, and keep posting ! What makes SB47 a great sim is it's players !
